This project was done for a client that we had previously done some work for in his home. They were looking for a more modern feel and needed a complete renovation of their office space . When the builder tore out all the interior walls it was decided to keep a very open feel instead of breaking it up again with new walls. They added skylights to bring in natural light and decided to do the majority of the walls in glass for the private offices. We provided built-in drafting tables in the center section for the individual draftsman separated by pod walls, each with a cork section and whiteboard. These were all finished in our exclusive espresso hand rubbed finish.
Around the perimeter we encased the pony wall with wood panels stained to match the cabinets to dress things up from painted sheetrock. This section also holds built-in desk areas for visiting draftsman. In the reception area we built filing cabinets for the back wall up against stacked rock with two workstations with a curved privacy wall that separates the reception from the foyer.
The owners found some office furniture they liked from a local source which upon seeing I felt I could build better and cheaper so we were contracted to build all the individual furniture pieces for the private office suites as well. I decided to finish all of these in natural maple with some rusted steel accent pieces used in the assembly. Later we were also contracted to build the conference room table that consisted of 3 2” thick 4 X 5 solid maple slabs bolted together and set on long beams that were supported by rectangular vertical slabs with rusted steel caps.
